jimi iv – “Faygo”

Lush acoustic strums and starry-eyed synths produce a spacey, melodic charm across “Faygo,” an enjoyable track from jimi iv, an artist originally from New Hampshire and now based in Los Angeles. An especially replay-inducing vocal sequence aligns with the serenely absorbing range of instrumentation, which launches into a soaring electric guitar ardor past the two-minute turn. Also delightful is the main vocal sequence, dreamily magnetic in delivering: “Jane Doe / You were sipping Faygo / On your roof in Waco / Waiting to go.” “Faygo” is a thorough success from jimi iv.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
