rjhoff – “pretty baby” (feat. The Adoni)

A punchy pop stirrer, “pretty baby” is a memorable collaborative single from rjhoff and The Adoni — its spacey synth pulses, twinkling piano, and steady LinnDrums presence making for a replay-inducing charm alongside vibrant, anthemic vocals.

A dreamy electronic soundscape opens into The Adonai’s smitten opening verses. “You do things that turn me on, you do things that can kill whatever good’s going on,” he lets out, capturing a whirlwind of a relationship, filled with both good and band. The production shines in its bass-y backing pulse and glimmering synths/keys, making for a shining success from St. Louis native rjhoff, who is also Alex Warren’s touring guitarist. rjhoff created the track while on the road, traveling with the young popstar’s entourage. The result is a thorough, replay-tempting success.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
