Memoryy – “snoopdoggguardianangel”

Capturing how unique moments in life can prompt artistic inspiration, “snoopdoggguardianangel” is another magnetic track from Memoryy. The project of Shaun Hettinger struts a mixture of colorful synth glimmering and funky bass bounces while recollecting on a particular incident. “I met Snoop on the saddest day of my life,” Hettinger says. “When I needed a sign from the universe most, there he was.” He stepped into a hotel elevator and found Snoop Dogg inside, marking an “ignition point” for his upcoming album.

“And then my Snoop Dogg Guardian Angel, said everything will be alright,” his vocals soar during the track’s gripping chorus, followed by an array of brassy exuberance. “Didn’t want to be a part time dad, or part time lover,” the personal perspectives continue into another fervently infectious electro-pop dose and hooky reprisal. Also impressing last month with the track “Finally Found The Pieces,” Memoryy has us firmly anticipating his upcoming full-length.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
