kazaizen – “Smoove”

Delighting across its soulfully psychedelic rock sound, “Smoove” is a new single from kazaizen, the project of multi-instrumentalist Jonny Kasai, based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He describes the release as “about image, how facade and fakeness is so prevalent to popular media in current times.”

Also released alongside a colorful music video, concluding with Kasai cutting his long hair for charity, the track stirs in its funky bass drive and “I keep it smoove” phrasing declaration, mixing between submerged intrigue and more upfront melodics. It marks another stylish, immersive success from kazaizen, who first caught our ears in 2021 with the standout tracks “Telephone (All Alone)” and “Bye the Sea.”
