Komaframe – “Overthinking”

/

Rome-based multi-instrumentalist Komaframe pushes toward a more electronic, high-intensity sound on “Overthinking,” unveiling an instrumental rush of urgent synths and electric guitar that excel both on their own and in intertwining segments. Restless rhythmic propulsion and nostalgic, spacey textures intertwine throughout, translating the track’s psychological tension into a gripping, cinematic progression.

The track’s production shows no shortage of stylishness, apparent right away as brisk percussive energy moves into a suavely impactful guitar twanging and bass-y electronic resonance. Synths ensue with nostalgic radiance, continuing to build with climactic artistry. The interplay of synths and guitars is riveting throughout, and especially in moments like 01:20, where a glistening guitar shift aligns with a heightened synth emotion. More blaring synth prominence thereafter then unfolds into a chilly, rhythmic entrancement, where drums and bass captivate before a whirring, excitable re-entry of synths.

The guitar work is particularly striking past the track’s midpoint, taking center stage with a fuzzy, twangy allure as the rhythm section persists delightfully. Synths then assume spacey, frequency-like intrigue amidst the solemn guitars as the production begins to close, finishing in the otherworldly sounds of those wonderfully robotic-like synth movements and scratchy percussive accompaniment. Stirring in its excellent atmospherics and guitar/synth interplay, “Overthinking” is an enveloping success from Komaframe.
