Tim Ayre – “LAXX”

/

Australian musician Tim Ayre impresses on new track “LAXX” with a sound that resembles Tame Impala’s psych-friendly bounce. Serene analog synths and an evolving vocal presence, escalating from the verses’ nonchalance into a melodic and chirpy chorus, lead the way. Around 02:30, the track expands into psych-friendly gorgeousness. A brisker, more forceful psych-pop delivery takes hold here, ending the track on an excitably infectious note. I’m definitely looking forward to Ayre’s forthcoming EP, due this fall on French label Kitsuné Musique.

“LAXX” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
