A new track from Miami-based band Palomino Blond, “Magnolia” conjures ’90s rock nostalgia with its soaring vocal power and fuzzy guitar ferocity. Coming via their new album ontheinside, “Magnolia” drives immediately into Carli Acosta’s dreamy vocal presence, gradually bolstered by dreamy guitar swirls. Bassist Peter Allen and drummer Michael Arevalo join seamlessly alongside Acosta’s vocals and Kyle Fink’s melodic guitar tones, the 30-second mark erupting with warm guitar-led fuzziness. The quainter, jangly nature of the verses evolve cohesively into the textured chorus. The “I know it hurts,” bridge also stands out, adding further vibrancy with the gliding guitar line and catchy vocal refrain.

“Magnolia” and other highlights can be found throughout ontheinside, streaming below:

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2022’ Spotify playlist.
