Love Me My Alien – “We Can Fly”

/

Love Me My Alien is a Philadelphia-based project comprising brothers Anthony and Michael Montesano, in addition to Justin DiFebbo. Representing the first track from their upcoming debut EP, “We Can Fly” conjures a feeling of yearning escapism within a hypnotic rock sound reminiscent of The War on Drugs. Aptly, the track features the drumming of Patrick Berkery, known for his studio and touring work with The War on Drugs.

Described as “windows down driving music,” “We Can Fly” caresses with its gentle guitar twangs and underlying acoustical mystique. “I love this little town, but wouldn’t it be nice to get away?” the vocals ask, tugging at your hand to take a trip to somewhere new. “Why don’t we give this thing a chance?” The title-touting hook compels with its lush, haunting vocal soaring, invigorating especially following the more contemplative bridge rounding the three-minute turn. “We Can Fly” is a lovely production from Love Me My Alien.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist.
