Sandy Realms – “Slip Away”

Australian psych-rockers must be tired of Tame Impala comparisons at this point, no matter how favorable. Still, it’s not a bad act to be grouped in with, and Australian psych-rockers Sandy Realms certainly do tout a distinctive quality in their softer take that distinguishes them well. Their hazy, sun-drenched sound – which explores lyrical endeavors like “kangaroos, love, and having nothing too lose” on superb track “Slip Away” – is quickly ear-pleasing, a hypnotic and twangy assortment of suave vocals and gentle instrumental fixings.
