Henry Hall – “There”

/

Henry Hall – first catching my ear with the excellent track “Comfort Zone” about two years ago – has a new track out, the peppy and charismatic “There”. The initially minimalist verses, with little more than a sporadic bass buzz and snare, lead into a funk-tinged bridge – “ooh, ooh, baby,” – before guitars enter the fold. The ample variation in the first minute or so lends to a captivating feel from the get-go, a staple of Henry’s work to date. His catchy and accessible vein of songwriting hooks early, all while retaining a sense of originality and knack for structural variation.

“There” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2018’ Spotify playlist.
