Racket Man craft a dreamy vein of rock fit for serenely watching the clouds pass by, as evident by the double single release of “Brunswick Boaties” and “New Guy” last week. The former alternates between quaintly suave verses and a chorus with an added twangy bounce, the structure and aesthetic reminiscent of Real Estate. A gentle synth emerges with subtle beauty in the final minute. “New Guy” is more caressing with its guitar use, though with a more vibrant rhythmic presence that adds a touch of funk and soul to the fold. Both tracks are quite easy to get lost in.
