Premiere: V-Neck Sweater – “Retrieve”

//

We’re happy to premiere “Retrieve,” the opening track from V-Neck Sweater’s just-released EP Second Cycle (streaming below). The moniker of Jake J Brotter’s NYC-based solo recording project, V-Neck Sweater crafts dreamy bedroom synth-pop. His penchant for both hooks and atmosphere is on display throughout Second Cycle, generally recalling a sound reminiscent of The Radio Dept. and The Postal Service. A nocturnal synth pad and glistening guitars establish an engaging soundscape early on, eventually meshing with Brotter’s lush vocal melodies.

“Retrieve” is one of numerous highlights throughout the EP, released today, which you can stream in full below:

“Retrieve” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush Indie Electro.
