Dear Japan – “Hollow Hearted Hands”

//

Dear Japan is an ambiguous new collaboration of artists from Hamburg and California. They just released their second single “Hollow Hearted Hands,” an extremely atmospheric slice of nighttime brooding. Trickling guitars and serene vocals exude a vibe reminiscent of TOPS’ mellowest material. The addition of ghostly synths throughout alongside the creeping guitars also provide a post-punk longing. This is a very hypnotic and gripping effort, one that will resonate with any fans of music with nocturnal ’80s slow-burning vibes. The track comes via a new EP, out on December 21st.

“Hollow Hearted Hands” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Shoegaze / Post-Punk / Dream-Pop.
