Zora Graves – “Vapor Brain”

Zora Graves is a “nautical pop” artist from Los Angeles, whose new track “Vapor Brain” aims and succeeds at an immersive and “distinctly oceanic vibe.” The track comes via their debut LP Reef Zero, released December 14th on Septarian Records.

“vapor Brain” is brisk and lively throughout, riding on a tropical melody propelled by trickling guitars. A bouncy rhythm section rounds it out. The track’s second half sees an involved assortment of bright guitars, the vocals lending some Animal Collective-like vibes in its soaring, hypnotic quality. The pulsations at 02:35 lead beautifully into a hooky expansion. “Vapor Brain” is a great example of this project’s successful aquatic aesthetic.
