Following the excellent “Coma” last fall, neo-psychedelia artist John Clark is back with another success in “Unchain My Mind,” a track we’re happy to premiere. It’s accompanied by a colorful, trippy video courtesy of Harrisyn Hartt. The spurts of electronics in the beginning mesh serenely with calming guitars and percussion. Clark’s vocals enter with a reverbed passion, aesthetically reminiscent of Spiritualized. The glistening @ 01:26 lifts the track into effervescent heights, especially as Clark’s melodic harmonizing becomes apparent. This is a spine-tingling moment. From here, the track enters hypnotic bliss, the psychedelic vibes and soaring melody making for an excellent track. I’m excited for more quality from John Clark throughout the year, with plans for new releases in the near future.
