Suken – “Hurricanes” (feat. Mara Den)

//

“Hurricanes” presents a rousing blend of electro-pop and psych-leaning rock, an impressive showing from Suken and London-based band Mara Den. “The track has a powerful yet nostalgic vibes,” Suken says. “We tried something that would sound timeless on this one.” The attempt is successful; from the get-go, soaring vocals are accompanied by both guitars and a creeping synth pad, which envelops the track prior to the glistening surge of synth-based energy at the 30-second mark. The blissfully hypnotic vocals and infectiously charged synth/guitar interplay result in a track with atmospheric and melodic appeal.

“Hurricanes” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Catchy Electro and Synth-Pop.
