Sleeping Jesus – “Lay”

/

Minnesota group Sleeping Jesus show a dreamy, melodically captivating soundscape on new track “Lay.” The track’s music video – depicting a “loneliness cure” – does well in capturing the track’s retrospective, yearning feel. Aesthetically, there’s a lush tone throughout reminiscent of Washed Out’s more subdued efforts. The transition around 01:09 features a bass-driven transition amidst the backing synths, with an ensuing vocal bridge relaying an infectious change of pace. Sleeping Jesus’ “Lay” impresses with both melodic and atmospheric charm.

“Lay” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush Indie Electronic.
