Micky Blouse – “I Wonder”

//

Featuring a striking vocal presence and a catchy feel reminiscent of ’50s guitar-pop, “I Wonder” is a stellar showing from Micky Blouse, a 22-year-old musician from Sheffield, England. The project remains in its early phases, with “I Wonder” being its only release to date, though it’s certainly an impressive debut. The airy, quivering vocal tone plays remarkably well alongside the playful guitar lines, with a hint of classic doo-wop present in the track’s easy-going flow. It’s parts that nostalgia and parts contemporary jangly indie-pop. Certainly, Micky Blouse seems like an act that will rise quickly.

“I Wonder” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush, Suave/Slacker, + Jangle-Rock.
