Album Premiere: Timothy Eerie – ‘Ritual’

//

We’re happy to premiere Ritual, the new album from psych-pop act Timothy Eerie. The Orlando-grown group, active in the scene since 2015, have grown from a bedroom project into a band with eclectic reach and consuming production. Ritual sees their fantastic melding of rock ‘n’ roll with atmospheric, hypnotic psych-pop. Among the album’s many highlights is the track “Bicycle,” a great entry point to get a feel for Timothy Eerie’s approach. Twangy guitars and a lingering organ accompany the dazed vocals, escalating in pitch and effervesence just as the one-minute mark approaches. Here, I’m reminded fondly of Caribou’s Andorra album, which captured psych-pop with absorbing beauty. “Bicycle” takes a hold on the listener with its heady guitar lines, dreamy vocal accompaniments, and all-out engrossing aesthetic. Exploring the rest of the album is strongly recommended.
