Our Fathers – “Space Song”

/

After impressing with the excellent track “Meet You at the Pool Hall” last year, Chicago act Our Fathers are back with another dazzling success with “Space Song.” Madeline Smith’s vocals are captivating, distinguishing between the verses’ understated synth-forward elegance and the more anthemic turn when guitars come more into focus. Aesthetically, I’m reminded of Wye Oak. The track’s second half features some especially compelling guitar work, adding nicely to the atmosphere after the two-minute mark, in addition to the striking vocals and lush synth backing. “Space Song” is another engaging accomplishment from this talented act.

“Space Song” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.
