RC $pitta – “The Dreamer”

The newly released “The Dreamer” comes via RC $pitta, a 25-year-old lyrical rapper from Portland, OR. An after-dark soundscape is established by eerie keys and a reflective vocal sample, with the rapper’s flow finding a nice middle ground between hip-hop and R&B. The track is concise, at only 02:16, though does well in establishing a convincing atmosphere and melody that tends to stick in your head.

“Dreamer” is the third of a string of singles off the artist’s project releasing later this year. The Christian Rich-produced track delivers a more mellow approach compared to past efforts from RC $pitta, who previously impressed with a faster flow on earlier tracks.

“The Dreamer” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Hip-Hop and Rap.
