Tomii – “Lenitive”

/

The lushly entrancing “Lenitive” rides on an effervescent backing synths, a twinkling lead, and the gradual addition of serene strings. Aesthetically, I’m reminded of a cross between Sigur Rós’ more understated material and lo-fi ambient hip-hop fit for nighttime studying. The mysterious project Tomii, whose identity and location is unknown, shows enjoyable adeptness at crafting melodies that grow from subdued background enjoyment into something that melodically lingers in your head for days. After the bustle and hustle of the week, Tomii’s “Lenitive” is a great track to ease into the weekend with.

“Lenitive” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush Indie Electronic.
