“Sloth Brain” is a moody track from Cactus Haus, a band from South Wales. Nonchalant guitars and vocals are quick to establish a feel in the realm of Demarco-esque slacker-rock, reminding of “Ode to Viceroy” specifically. An interesting, psych-friendly turn occurs just prior to the two-minute mark, with more present guitar distortion prevailing in the second half. “Sloth Brain” plays primarily with a repeating, hypnotic structure, though it fits the shrug-friendly vibes of this release well. I’m looking forward to hearing more from this act.
