Premiere: Gabe Greenland – “Tomorrow Afternoon”

/

We’re happy to premiere “Tomorrow Afternoon,” a new track from Gabe Greenland, the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter who impressed with “Humanish” in October. With that track, Greenland incorporated brass and a vocal duet around a sophisti-pop-like aesthetic. With “Tomorrow Afternoon” there’s an initial direction more fixated on acoustic-centric singer/songwriter, though the snappy bridge around the 40-second mark shows more upbeat heights in line with that sophisti-pop loving. The wordless vocal bounce and brass additions to follow play exuberantly, constructing a multitude of fun melodic moments in the first couple moments. “Tomorrow Afternoon” is another quality showing in songwriting within an aesthetic that Greenland makes his own.

“Tomorrow Afternoon” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
