Windy Isle – “Lonely People”

/

Ahead of their upcoming album White Apartment, out in August, Swedish act Windy Isle have released the graceful, melodic pop track “Lonely People.” The project’s leader, singer/songwriter Niclas Edhenholm, is joined here by several notable Stockholm-based figures in the indie scene: Paulina Palmgren (La Lusid), Tomas Hellberg (Tellus), and Mira Aasma (Italo Bitches). They each wrote a verse for the track, in addition to providing vocals. The song grew from a single verse, with each performer adding their own personality to the production. Lyrical references to summer nights in June, sweepingly melodic piano melodies, and elegant yet powerful vocal performances combine for a very memorable effort, one that melds anthemic power with emotive folk/pop feels.

“Lonely People” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
