Perfect Blue – “Wicked”

Chicago six-piece Perfect Blue show an engrossing, unique sound on new track “Wicked.” Dreamy vocals mingle with an assortment of brass and wavering strings, in addition to lush rhythms and stirring guitar twangs. The band is highly adept at crafting warm textures beneath their melodically engaging delivery, especially during moments like the bridge approaching the two-minute mark.

The track comes via the band’s forthcoming self-titled debut EP, which was entirely self-recorded, produced, and mixed at Perfect Blue’s home-base studio Abbey Cat Recordings. Band keyboardist Joseph Drezemiecki also directed a music video for the track, which will be releasing in the near future.

7/28 UPDATE:: The track’s music video is now out! Watch it below:

“Wicked” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.
