Sonic Blume – “Pink Boots”

Following the well-received track “Aubrey,” Sonic Blume impress again with the dreamily melodic “Pink Boots.” Inspired by “both dreams and discontent with reality,” the track features serene vocals — tonally reminiscent of Wild Nothing — over glistening guitars, a whirring ’80s-friendly synth, and pulsing percussion. The “tell us a story,” vocal bit signals a dreamier ascension alongside new guitar-laden murkiness, a successful maneuver. “Aubrey” and “Pink Boots” have shown the New Jersey-based Sonic Blume as an act to pay close attention to.

“Pink Boots” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Shoegaze / Post-Punk / Dream-Pop.
