4Vesta – “Evening Star”

/

Brooklyn shoegaze band 4Vesta impress with new track “Evening Star,” the first track off their debut EP, Light & Chemicals. Like many shoegaze acts, they are heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine’s classic Loveless, particularly the heavier shoegaze sound. Unlike many, 4Vesta succeed immensely in churning out a convincing shoegaze-fronted sound. They convince with a densely lush array of layers, as vocals rise beautifully alongside guitar and rhythmic escalation at 02:13. The 4+ minutes of “Evening Star” induce an enjoyably hypnotic state, prepping the listener for an engaging EP, streaming in full below:

“Evening Star” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Shoegaze / Post-Punk / Dream-Pop.
