Javier – “Strangers”

//

Fit for nighttime drives, “Strangers” is a newly released track from songwriter/producer Javier. Effectively conveying a late-night, soul-pop sound reminiscent of Frank Ocean, “Strangers” rides on entrancing vocals to start. The “strangers treat me better than you do,” hook works wonderfully with the mellow guitar smatterings and subtle vocal backing. A tender guitar solo around 01:30 adds nicely to the seductive feel. “Strangers” succeeds in mood and melodic captivation.

“This song is about being alienated by the people you think are closest to you,” Javier says. “I got the idea for it when I started feeling like a lot of people that I valued in my life didn’t see the same worth in me. I wrote, produced and recorded this song in my attic.”

“Strangers” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2019’ Spotify playlist.
