Vern Matz – “Skyscrapers”

/

Impressing back in 2017 with the pleasantly melodic “Shelby Park,” Vern Matz returns with a lushly entrancing track in “Skyscrapers.” The duo of Daniel Belgrad and Michael Lituchy impress with their naturally evolving songwriting. The track grows from quaint folk acoustics into a soaring, majestic quality with twangy guitars.

The band describes “Skyscrapers” as “an old song about mysterious headaches, unstable ceilings, lost cats and spoiled youth.” The track, which was produced by previously featured act TOLEDO, represents Vern Matz’ first single ahead of their new album, releasing in February 2020. The song is being released as “a part of Decaf Records, a newly formed collective whose roster includes TOLEDO, Vern Matz, and Bluish.”

“Skyscrapers” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2019’ Spotify playlist.
