Cardinal Bloom – “Time”

/

“Time” is a beautifully consuming track from Cardinal Bloom, a band from Salt Lake City with a talent for textured rock. “Time” dabbles in the psych-rock and dream-pop realms, growing from quaintly nocturnal guitar/synth interplay into a swelling burst of melodic beauty. The “love is a dangerous,” hook is gorgeous, with an illuminated backing synth complementing hypnotic guitar twangs. The trippy vocal layering adds engagingly to the blissful soundscape. The final 30 minutes sees further devastating beautiful from intertwining vocal layers. “Time” is gripping from start to finish.

The band writes: “This song is about the time apart from someone you love and that no matter how much time apart there is, you can always go back to the love that was once there.”

“Time” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
