Dream Tonic – “I Take To You”

/

Dreamy and sweepingly melodic, “I Take To You” is the impressive debut single from Dream Tonic, the project of Kristin Allen-Farmer. “I take to you as I’m falling down,” Allen-Farmer sings during the enchanting chorus, where a gliding guitar and lush synth pads converge. Beautifully striking production is on display at 02:50, when gorgeous vocal textures play with infectious, bouncy allure over the chorus’ lingering melody. “I Take To You” touts the type of melody that gets stuck in your head, easily. This is a fantastic debut.

“This song was originally written on a ukulele during the middle of an epic rainstorm on the beach in Kauai under a grass hut,” the artist explains. “It then morphed into a full blown production once I got home and into my DAW (Ableton). This song is a love song, so it is especially fitting for February, with Valentine’s Day around the corner.”

“I Take To You” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
