Joan Torres’s All Is Fused – “Finale” (ft. Bubby Lewis)

/

“Finale” is a wonderfully equitable showcase of various instruments, from awe-inducing rhythmic pace to tender guitar tones, alluring brass, and atmospheric synth tones. The track represents the latest from Joan Torres’s All Is Fused ensemble, who previously impressed with tracks like “Demiurge” and “Revolution.” The brass-based repetition and percussive urgency on this track remind well of Philip Glass at points initially, though the track certainly expands with fun capriciousness beyond there. The San Francisco-based project, along with bassist Bubby Lewis (who’s fantastic throughout, and shines especially in the second half), impresses again with “Finale.”

“Finale” and other memorable tracks from January can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2020’ Spotify playlist.
