The Landing – “Consider the Crown”

“Consider the Crown” exhibits a catchy vein of spacey pop, courtesy of The Landing. The New York-based project impressed last year with the track “Keep Lookin’ Up.” Today, The Landing continues that success with the release of “Consider the Crown.” Summery, pop-forward synths combine with playful vocals and slight guitars to start. The melodic bridge lends a lush synth pad in the backing, as the vocals assume a multi-layered lushness. Throbbing synths follow, as does the dazzling “just look around,” hook. “Consider the Clown” is a catchy, well-produced success, from an artist whose momentum continues following several successful singles, nationwide tours, and festival performances at SXSW, CMJ, Northside, and others.

Look for The Landing’s upcoming EP, An Anthem for the Optimistic: Part 2, in April.

“Consider the Crown” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
