CD Ghost – “Bittersweet”

//

Melodic and atmospheric, “Bittersweet” is a pulsing dream-pop beauty from CD Ghost. The Los Angeles-based project entrances with lush vocals and a sturdy synth-pop adornment, touting a playful synth lead and suavely reverberating synth-bass. A nocturnal bridge around 01:10 brings forth an enjoyably contemplative tone. Just past the three-minute mark, the track expands into a gorgeous vaporwave-forward allure, with a hypnotic and caressing synth tone enveloping.

“Bittersweet” is a lovely track from this talented project, who describe “Bittersweet” as “about an immortal hopeless romantic who falls in love again and again with the same person incarnated in different bodies. They’re stuck in a tragic eternity losing their lover repeatedly, making them weary of love while losing grasp on what is real.”

“Bittersweet” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
