BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON – “All I Want”

/

A catchy track from Japanese act BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON, “All I Want” shows a fun take on psych-tinged pop. Alongside drummer Yusuke Okada, the act is comprised of siblings Shohei and Ayu Megumi. They will be releasing an EP, Some Same Soul, on July 29th, preceded by singles “Paranoid” and now this catchy success. Hazy, spacious pop contemplation forms the initial sound, with catchy guitar-based peppiness emerging just prior to the one-minute mark (with a bit of an Of Montreal likeness). A catchy synth-forward segment at 01:43 leads into a guitar-fronted pop crooner, escalating at 02:19 into a fully-formed pop anthem. “All I Want” is a fun listen in its entirety, enticing replays thanks to its infectious melodic qualities and diverse psych-pop grasp.

“All I Want” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
