Gillian Frances – “Friend”

//

“Friend” is a beautifully dreamy track from Gillian Frances, a multi-instrumentalist based in Anacortes, WA. “Friend” precedes the forthcoming full-length album, Miles Away From Myself. “The song is about a feud with a friend, and the coming-to-terms of the end of our relationship,” Frances explains. A ghostly vocal tone is well accompanied by haunting acoustics. Clanging electric guitars emerge past the first minute, with twangy beauty expanding into the vocals’ re-emergence. From here, the track casts a dream-like state that proves memorable. “Friend” assures listeners that Gillian Frances will be a name to follow.
