Premiere: Enfant Terrible – “Theodore”

/

Premiering today is the lushly enthralling folk track “Theodore,” from Enfant Terrible, a band based in Devon, UK. Breezy and delightful, “Theodore” rides on tender acoustics and mellow keys to start, alongside an ethereal vocal charm that leads nicely into the “Theodore, you turn me inside out,” hook. The reflecting vocal effect past the one-minute mark plays with an atmospheric, mysterious enjoyment as brass-like elegance lingers. Per the band, the track “explores themes of confused adolescent love and toxic masculinity.” Shades of Elliott Smith and John Vanderslice are evident. “Theodore” is a superb folk track fit for retrospective autumnal listening.

Enfant Terrible is also releasing an EP, L’air du Temps, on October 2nd.

“Theodore” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.
