Needy Empty – “Houseplants”

//

San Francisco-based artist Needy Empty shows a captivating, dreamy mood throughout “Houseplants,” a new track with psych-rock and bedroom-pop appeal alike. The project’s debut single impresses with a series of lovely melodic twists and turns after first minute, kicking off with lingering guitar-based hookiness. The “I’m ready to go,” hook succeeds firmly, with emotive guitar lines and yearning vocals converging for a wholly memorable feel. The woodwind-like background layering retains pleasantries throughout, meshing well with the artist’s lush vocals and accompanying moody guitars. “Houseplants” engages throughout.

“Houseplants” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop / Shoegaze / Post-Punk.
