Sherman Sherman – “HOURS/DAYS”

/

A shimmering, catchy vein of disco-infused pop sound is on display throughout “HOURS/DAYS,” a winning new track from Southern California-based artist Sherman Sherman. The track’s “seasons pass,” hook bursts with synth-led excitement, as the vocals align via a soaring exuberance. The disco-y guitar shimmers and bass line provide a lovely glow throughout, as well. Aesthetically, I’m fondly reminded of Dent May. The twangy guitars in the closing moments converge with a hook to craft an especially memorable moment, of which “HOURS/DAYS” has an abundance of.

“The song was written during the lockdown, and it describes a person losing track of time as hours turn to days,” the artist writes. “The production features a punchy disco-influenced drums accompany by melody lines that provoke a feeling of nostalgia.”

“HOURS/DAYS” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
