Malou Madi – “Decomplicated”

The darkly entrancing “Decomplicated” is a stylish pop success from Malou Madi, the project of Marie Davy. Pulsing synths and sporadic percussion complement creeping vocals to start, building to the catching title-referencing hook. Prickly keyboard sputters prior to the three-minute mark add nicely to the soundscape and backing wordless vocal touch, evolving into the swooning, captivating outro. “Decomplicated” succeeds with its darkly entrancing pop aesthetic and consuming vocal work.

“Decomplicated” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2021’ Spotify playlist.
