3D The Boss – “Push It”

/

Atlanta-based pop trio 3D The Boss get feet moving with recent track “Push It,” from their debut full-length album of the same name. The group blends a love for ’70s and ’80s funk/R&B with a modern electro-pop shine. “Push It” is enjoyably evident of such, especially upon the catchy “to the left,” hook. The “I want you to,” vocal sequencing, alongside the “puuush,” emphasis, easily gets stuck in my head. The hip-hop turn past the two-minute mark also engages. With production fondly reminiscent of Robyn’s pop-forward efforts, “Push It” pushes all the right buttons, crafting an accessible and replay-inducing pop track with some nostalgic enjoyment meshing with a modern shine.

“Push It” and other memorable tracks from April can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2021’ Spotify playlist.
