Yukkon – “Two Way Street”

/

A beautiful track fit for sunset-side yearning, “Two Way Street” comes via Yukkon, the project of Los Angeles-based producer/composer/multi-instrumentalist Tyler Connaghan. The track swiftly develops from light guitars and piano into something fully hypnotic, bolstered throughout by a suavely impactful vocal lead with soulful falsetto qualities. The lush pop and modern tropicália stylings make for an engrossing sophisti-pop sound, the “you and me,” vocal playing entrancingly into hazy, island-set guitars. Multiple vocal layers add further to the caressing, comforting soundscape. The title-referencing line plays with particularly lengthened passion to close things, capping off a track that hooks effortlessly with its easy-going charm.

“Two Way Street” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2021’ Spotify playlist.
