1st Base Runner – “Rabbit In Your Headlights” (Unkle cover)

1st Base Runner‘s cover of Unkle’s “Rabbit In Your Headlights” captures the track’s ghostly mood and atmospherics. The Austin-based 1st Base Runner provides a lovely take on one of his favorite tracks. The haunting piano and solemn vocals craft intrigue, the black-and-white video and VHS nostalgia adding enjoyably to the overall feel. Thom Yorke’s original vocals in the track are legendary, and 1st Base Runner’s offers an alternative to his tone that works effectively. “Rabbit In Your Headlights” — originally released in 1997 — is certainly deserving of further retrospective appreciation, as conveyed here.

The artist has already impressed with a productive 2021 through his original material; the tracks “All Thoughts“, Break Even, and “Only One” caught our attention in particular, off 1st Base Runner’s debut EP Seven Years of Silence,
