Sage of New England – “Weaknesses”

/

Impressing earlier this year with “Encounter with a Guide” and “Fire Tales,” Sage of New England shows further quality with the recent track “Weaknesses.” Featuring retrospective vocals and textured, atmospheric guitar tones, “Weaknesses” consumes with its lyrical meditation on self-growth and transformation. The project continues to tout hypnotic, atmospheric tones within lush acoustical backbones; “Weaknesses” enthralls with the subtle textural backings, akin to “sonic acupuncture.”

“As human beings we are imperfect,” says the project’s singer/songwriter Matthew Hayes Jacobs. “For ‘Weaknesses,’ my aim was to honor that our flaws fuel our growth. One of the reasons we are alive is for the purpose of evolution. Our weaknesses are sign points for the path towards this evolution.”

“Weaknesses” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.
