“SO SO BAD” is a grooving, spacey pop delight from UncleBoy, the project of Bristol-based writer/producer Tom Campbell. The second single from his upcoming album Blue Forever Blue, out this spring, “SO SO BAD” hypnotizes with its lush bass line, caressing backing synth pad, and ethereal vocal lead. Lyrical yearning combines with lushly textural production for an accessible production that hooks melodically. The initial push of the bass line and background shimmering reminds of Tame Impala and Beck; Campbell’s hypnotic vocals are gradually accompanied by concise synth reflections, the delectable bass line remaining a constant backbone throughout. “SO SO BAD” enamors with its weightless production and melodic charm.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2022’ Spotify playlist.
