Gal Shaya – “Up”

Casting a dreamy, haunting glow, “Up” is a moving new track from Gal Shaya. A solemn synth pad and suave bass line accompany an ethereal vocal lead, rising past the one-minute mark with crisp guitar jangles and escalating vocals. Abundant with mood and atmosphere, “Up” was “written with the intention of being a wide soundscape that invites the listener to be present with it,” per Shaya. The tender vocals play with cohesive elegance amidst the synths and guitars, the added spaciness during the chorus adding a lovably infectious quality. “Up” is a resonating success from Gal Shaya, marking the first single from the artist’s upcoming 5-song EP, Patience to Doubt.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2022’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
