Dylan Tauber – ‘He Loves Carmen’ LP

A new album from Israel-based electronic artist Dylan Tauber, He Loves Carmen presents a spacey and lush vein of atmospheric electronica. Hypnotic synth-led arrangements and melodic female vocal leads star throughout the full-length, which represents Tauber’s 14th album.

Vocal-fronted synth-pop successes like “He Loves Carmen,” inspired by Tauber’s girlfriend, play engagingly alongside more electronic-focused efforts, like “I Am a Mirror,” which drives on bouncy bass synths and lush keys alongside textured wordless vocal effects; the production is especially haunting on this one. “Light Warrior” also shines with its dazzling electro-pop production, led by the spirited vocal lead of Ukrainian artist Anastasia Derkach. The track’s aesthetic reminds fondly of Röyksopp.
