Heckmann – “Nothing We Du”

//

“Nothing We Du” is a beautiful new track from Heckmann, incorporating both intimate folk lushness and alluring orchestral components. Alongside Raymond Richards on pedal steel and producer Adam Howard, Heckmann crafts an emotively striking sound, delivered as “a lament of love lost in the midst of deep friendship.”

Richards’ tender pedal steel work accompanies lush acoustics to start; the spacious, yearning soundscape immediately enthralls. Heckmann’s serene vocals are gradually joined by string accompaniments, playing with poignancy amidst lyrics reflecting on strong personal bonds. “Hold me closely, tightly, lonely, I don’t wanna wake up from this,” Heckmann sings during the conclusion, eloquently capturing feelings of comfort when in the loving embrace of one’s love.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2022’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.
