Leisure Club – “Melting in a Shallow Body of Water”

//

Vancouver-based band Leisure Club impress with their new track “Melting in a Shallow Body of Water,” touting a riveting brand of psych-infused rock. Opening lyrics speak to digging introspectively into one’s mind, complemented aptly by whirring synths and twangy guitar adornments.

A giddy-up in the vocal intensity past the 40-second mark injects more brightness into the mix; the glistening guitar tones and aquatic synth currents mesh cohesively here. “Cover your eyes,” the vocals warn during the subsequent verses, darker in their rock-forward ferocity as the “what’s inside it,” bridge drives infectiously into the chorus. “Melting in a Shallow Body of Water” is a moody, trippy rock success from Leisure Club.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2022’ Spotify playlist.
